And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. (2 Corinthians 9:8 NIV)
The text first of all speaks to God's ability. Let's stay with that for a minute. God's ability was first made clear to us in the creation story. He quite literally created something out of nothing. He didn't break a sweat doing it. He didn't get tired. Didn't procrastinate. Didn't have to strategize. He simply spoke and it became. All of it. All we know.
The next part is abundantly. Do you know what abundance speaks to? More than we could possibly want or need. More than we know what to do with. More. Abundance is simply more.
Then why does He do it? He does it so that we, you and I, can benefit ALWAYS, AT ALL TIMES. AND, get this so that our work will be good! God gives us abundance so that we can benefit. Not even so that he can be benefitted, which I'm sure is His preference, but so that WE collectively can be.
Think about that... when we all benefit, doesn't that depict a life worth living, a life of abundance?
Believe God. He promises abundance and He's ready to deliver.
